Over twenty years ago when Paul Zopel moved to Wisconsin, he brought some of the Chicago sound. It wasn't long before his family and friends began to explore the limits of jazz improvisation. The instrumentation of the band depends on the gig. It may vary from, duo, trio, quartet, quintet, sextet, or big band, using saxophone, string bass, piano, trumpet, guitar, trombone, flute, clarinet, violin, cello, drums, and vocals in different combinations. We are a "working" band and can be hired for special events. With a repertoire of standards in the bands book, we have something for any occasion. When everything is swinging and people are dancing, the guys have been known to play all night. In addition to event entertainment, The Zopel Jazz Ensemble also has the Cosmic Adventure artist concert series. The Cosmic Adventure was recently performed at the U.W.M.C. Concert Hall. Zopel Jazz is based out of Wausau, Wisconsin and continues to play throughout the midwest.
